Vardy №1 in England, according to journalists


Leicester striker Jamie Vardy was elected best player of the season in the Premier League by the Association of Writers journalists in England.

The scorer of the leader in the standings garnered 36 percent of the vote and overtake his teammates Riyad Mahrez and N'Golo Kante. 29-year-old Vardy has played in 34 games this season, which has scored 22 goals. The prize was won by Eden Hazard (Chelsea) in 2015.


Vardy is the first Englishman who took the prize after Scott Parker in 2011 and the first player Leicester, who gets the prize since the beginning of the survey in 1948. Leicester will win the Premiership tonight if Tottenham no away wins against Chelsea. Last week Riyad Mahrez did was elected number 1 for season poll among players in the Premier League.
