Boca withheld River Plate in the big Argentine derby

Boca Juniors withheld draw 0: 0 against the biggest enemy in the Argentine River Plate Cup, despite playing over 75 minutes with a man less on the field of "La Bombonera". Boca is in fifth place in Group "B" of the Primera Liga with a total of 18 points after 12 matches, while River was eighth in group "A" with 14 points.
In a typical setting for superclasico nervous, Boca started the game horribly after Pablo Perez kicked defender Eder Balanta and received a straight red card.
At the end of the first half the hosts lost and midfielder Fernando Gago, who dislocated ankle and was replaced by Marcelo Meli. River again controlled the game for most of the game as players of Boca were relying on counterattacks.
River Plate failed to create many situations and the best situation gave Boca and Carlos Tevez. Former Juventus striker shoot dangerous in the second half, but keeper Marcelo Barovero saved strokes and the ball went out for a corner.
"Compensate for our teammate with plenty of running. These derbies are tough, but with a man less are terrible," said Tevez after the meeting.
