The coach of the Italian national team Antonio Conte has applied for
an expedited procedure in the case of corruption, held in the city of
Cremona, reports
news agency ANSA.
Conte, who ranked Italy at the European Championship in France this summer, has been charged with fraud along with more than 100 people - group investigated for illegal betting and manipulation of matches, started from year 2012.
Prosecutors in Cremona believes that Conte knows about these cases but had not communicated them as trained team of Siena in the 2010/2011 season, and several players from the club have proven involvement in match-fixing.
Preliminary hearings began in mid-February, when attorneys for Conte said he hopes to quickly complete the process.
