Lazio coach: Nobody is offended players of Sparta

Lazio coach Stefano Piola was quick to defend his club after it became clear that UEFA opened an investigation into the incidents during the match against Sparta Prague in the Europa League. The match was suspended briefly after fans of the visiting Rome began to insult racist footballer of the hosts.

According Piola however, fans of Lazio are not chanting offensive remarks and even against - from the stands is heard chants only at Italian players.

"I tried to explain to the referee with my broken English that I did not hear any racist chants. On the contrary, I heard the chants against the Italian players. They were clear and crisp, but I want to judge anybody. I just think it's easier to punish some criminals than all supporters. These situations should be avoided. They are bad for football, but are made by a small group of people, "said Piola.

Lazio may refer serious fine for the behavior of their fans, while UEFA will consider the case on 22 March
