Barcelona grieving: Two years without Tito Vilanova

Barcelona paid tribute to Tito Vilanova. He died on 25th April 2014. Tito Vilanova left this world just 45 years. He lost his battle with cancer, which led for three years.

In December 2011 Tito Vilanova underwent removal of a tumor from his throat. On April 27, 2012 was officially named head coach of Barcelona. Although most of the time was away from the team, Villanova failed to make the team champion Spain.

He has led Barcelona to 60 games. Has achieved 43 wins, 9 draws and 8 defeats, goal difference 158: 70.

The name of Tito Vilanova will remain in large letters in the history of Barcelona. Villanova will remain "Mister 100" because under his guidance Barcelona won the title in the 2012/2013 season with 100 points. Barca did not do so when Pep Guardiola.

Tito Vilanova fulfilled his dream of 25th November 2012, when he saw on the field only players from the school of Barcelona. Barca won with 4: 0 away to Levante. Daniel Alves was injured in the 15th minute and was replaced by Martin Montoya. After this change the composition of Barcelona looked like this: Victor Valdes, Martin Montoya, Carles Puyol, Gerard Pique, Jordi Alba, Xavi, Sergio Busquets, Cesc Fabregas, Pedro Rodriguez, Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta.

Tito Vilanova was a long time assistant at Barcelona and has contributed to 14 of the 19 titles won under the guidance of Pep Guardiola. Not accidentally Pep called it "the best assistant." Villanova certainly has its contribution to the success of Barcelona in recent years that the Catalans play 'tiki-so "and dominate for such a long time.
