Tottenham is preparing a bid for Belgian international Axel Witsel from the Russian Zenit St Petersburg, reported the newspaper "The Sun".
The London team is ready to pay 20 million pounds for the midfielder in the summer of 2016.
27-year-old Witsel has a contract with Zenit until the end of season 2016-2017.
Midfielder went to teams from St. Petersburg in 2012, and before that carries the team of Portuguese giants Benfica and the Belgian Standard Liege.
Witsel has played 64 matches and scored 6 goals for the national team of Belgium.
