Decided: Serie A will test video replays

Italy Football Federation announced that from next season Serie A will begin the use of video replays to assist the referees.

Last month, the board of the International Football Association gave its consent in the coming two seasons to begin testing a similar system, which should help the referees in making the right decisions.

"Italian Football Federation, together with other national federations, was chosen to test sismeta video assistant judges", announced from headquarters. "At the meeting, which was held in London on April 8 regarding the change in the rules of the game, the project was explained and was recognized by the national association. Then we have once again shown their interest. "

"President Carlo Tavekio will organize a meeting with the Serie A, Serie B and Lega Pro to discuss technical and operational requirements for the testing of next season."

Italians explained that the project will proceed in two stages: the first will take place "offline" and will cover the 2016/2017 season. The second phase will now take place "live", but this will happen only in 2017/2018.
