Former prisoner Uli Hoeneß will travel to Bayern for the second match with Benfica

Former President of Bayern (Munich) Uli Hoeneß will travel with the team for the meeting rematch of the quarterfinals of the Champions League against Benfica in Lisbon. The news confirmed
sporting director Matthias Sammer.

"This is great for Bayern. Uli Hoeneß is part of the club and his presence there shows the strength and unity that is Bayern," said Sammer. Hoeness last appearance match the German team in the Champions League visit on February 10, 2014, when Bayern won 2: 0 against Arsenal in London. The meeting between Benfica and Bayern Munich on Wednesday.
Last week, Bayern won as hosts with 1: 0. 64-year-old Hoeness was sentenced in Munich in March 2014 because of tax abuse, amounting to 28.5 million euros. He went to prison three months later. In late February this year Hoeness was released from prison after completing half of his sentence.
