La Liga introduces financial ratings of clubs

The Spanish Football League will introduce a system for calculating the financial condition of each club from the top division, which will try to offer more transparency to potential new sponsors. The president of the organization Javier Tebas explained that the clubs will have a financial rating that will allow banks and large investors to exercise greater confidence in the negotiations for cooperation.

"Our main goal is in the next four years to catch the Premier League revenues and avoid a European Super League. Currently we are working on a system that would give a rating of financial stability of clubs. He ran the idea for the first time in Europe," said Tebas at a meeting with major local companies.

"So far we have worked with clubs mainly for financial control, centralization of sale of television rights and many other things, but we still have much to do," he added.
