With the success United have approached a point of fourth Arsenal but with a game in hand and two of the third Manchester City. The team of Louis van Gaal garnered 59 points with his fourth victory of the last five games, and the "Gunners" with 60 points in its assets.
The composition of the Crystal Palace even had to put up with defeat after being unbeaten in their last four matches. Palace has 39 points in 16th place in the standings in England.
