Fuchs: Ranieri got here to my birthday party... but turned up on the wrong day!

The Italian coach was asked to hitch his gamers in celebrating the left-back turning 30 before the victory over Sunderland - but did not pay enough consideration to the invitation.
Fuchs: Ranieri came to my birthday party... but turned up on the wrong day!
Claudio Ranieri has gained acclaim for his laid-again character and good humour
during Leicester Metropolis's outstanding rise to Premier League title favourites.

Certainly, the Italian has such a great relationship with his players that he was invited to left-again Christian Fuchs' birthday party three days earlier than the Foxes's victory over Sunderland.

There was just one problem: Ranieri, perhaps with a few other things on his mind as Leicester shut in on the title, didn't pay shut enough attention to the invite.

Fuchs instructed the hilarious story in full to the Guardian: "My wife, who had organised the occasion, informed me the story after we arrived on the evening.

"Jon Sanders, the participant liaison officer, had sent Claudio the invite, saying: 'Can you come by for an hour, it will be great.'

"Claudio probably did not have a look at the invite, solely the place it is and not the date, and he just went there. He contacted Jon and was like: 'Hell, Sando, the place is that this celebration? I'm on the first ground, second ground, no person is here!'

"So the next night I put Claudio on the spot, as a result of I wished him to inform his story to everyone there. I did a little speech, then I called him up.

"He stated that Jon Sanders is now solely working for the academy.

"So in the long run Claudio got here to my birthday twice and that is a good bigger honour. I could not consider he was there - I don't think there are too many managers that might present up.

"And he was smiling, having fun with the party, not worrying that I had one or two glasses of crimson wine. Claudio's an excellent character."
