Sampdoria striker Antonio Cassano suggested his salary be halved as a gesture of apology to the club, Italian media reported.
According to "La Stampa" 28-year-old wants to make up the team of President Ricardo Garonne, after the latter asked Contracts of Cassano to be terminated because of conflict between the two.
Cassano did not attend the gathering of the club, with the excuse that his wife Caroline is pregnant and wants to spend as much time with her.
But he is willing to suffer a serious reduction in salary, to show that he wants to stay at Sampdoria.
"I would like to stay here forever. I like the president. Now he apologized," said Cassano, quoted by "La Stampa".
