Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has admitted that he wished shooter United's Wayne Rooney to go under the "citizens" informed tabloid The Sun.
The Argentinian striker has left Old Trafford to play around on city rivals City in the summer of 2009, and last month Rooney came close to the same step.
English football talk that will leave the Red Devils, but was persuaded to remain in the red part of Manchester superexpensive new contract.
Before tomorrow's derby between the two Mancunian clubs, Tevez said: "I would be very glad if Rooney had come here. But it is very difficult to leave United.
Wayne is a player with great qualities. He was my teammate and friend when I was at United and is one of those players who is better to have in your team than playing against you.
For me he is the best English striker in recent years. I made the change from United in the City and so far I have not regretted.
Rooney is currently in the U.S. where recovering its shape after injuring his ankle and could not take part in the game to "citizens".
Only three points separate the city rivals in the standings in the Premiership and a win would have returned to City in the title race.
"We are in the top three and I think we are better than last year, improve performance continuously. We must continue to fight throughout the season before we can say whether we are good enough to win the trophy," said Tevez .
"I think we can do it, but we must continue to win. Our results are good so far, but not perfect. There are still plenty of time until the end of the campaign, however, the title race is open," he said.
