Newcastle striker - Andy Carroll, was charged with inflicting bodily harm over teenager and was brought before a court, police said.
21-year-old striker, who played for equality 2:2 against Wigan on Saturday, hitting 18-year-old girl early this morning in his house. Police arrived at the address and found a slight head injury to the girl.
Carroll, who played a key role in return to Newcastle in the top flight, has 4 goals in the Premiership this season and is expected to get called up for England.
Andy Carroll was released on bail on a charge of assault, but will have to live in the house of the master of the "Magpies" Kevin Nolan. Today was heard by the court in Heksam.
